Making local government work for you.

Quality, affordable health care.

Picture
Thousands of our neighbors depend on Ingham County to provide basic health care services, through the County Health Department, health navigators and the Ingham Health Plan. For several years, Morgan himself depended on the Ingham Health Plan for basic health care — so he knows the value it provides to local residents.

Morgan is working to protect these vital, life-saving services and help ensure that local children, seniors and families always have access to quality, affordable care.

Morgan c
o-wrote the county’s new health services millage, which expands the existing millage to include mental health assistance for our neighbors who need it. He also co-wrote the new senior services millage, which provides critical services to senior citizens, including eliminating long waiting lists for Meals on Wheels and home health care.

An economy that works for everyone.

Picture
Too many people have been left behind in today's economy. About half of all Lansing children live in poverty. We must address the local poverty crisis.

Morgan has voted to maintain or increase county support for programs that help local citizens in need, including Meals on Wheels, veterans’ relief, Community Mental Health, foster care and more.

He's also worked with with small business owners to help them create good-paying local jobs, while demanding that corporations receiving tax incentives invest in our community and hire local workers whenever possible.

Open, honest and transparent government.

Picture
The culture that allows political insiders to hide from public accountability must end. Morgan is a longtime advocate for open, honest and transparent government. After all, politicians aren't in charge — people are.

That's why Morgan authored the County Commission’s new ethics policy, which improves government transparency, holds elected officials accountable and forbids county commissioners from using private email servers for county business.

Morgan also passed a resolution providing unprecedented transparency to Ingham County government by publishing the audio from every county commission and committee meeting online, so that citizens can know exactly what their elected officials are doing and saying.
